Memorial Same Day Surgery Center, located in Hollywood, opened in 1974 as the first freestanding outpatient surgical facility in Florida and the second in the U.S.  In 1995, Memorial Same Day Surgery Center West was opened in Pembroke Pines to meet the needs of the growing Southwest Broward County residents. 

Since 1974, physicians at the Centers have performed more than 210,000 procedures in a multitude of specialties. These specialties include dental and oral surgery, gastroenterology, gynecology, general surgery, ophthalmology, orthopedics, otolaryngology (ear, nose, and throat), pain management, plastic and cosmetic surgery, podiatry, and urology.
