BEFORE SURGERY
Do NOT eat or drink anything after midnight the night before, or the morning of surgery, unless advised by staff. This includes water, mints, chewing gum, hard candy, etc. You may take medications with a small sip of water.
If you develop an illness (Fever, Infection, Productive Coughs, etc.) prior to your surgery, you must do the following:

Notify your surgeon PRIOR to the planned surgery date and follow his/her instructions.

Notify this facility and leave a message if necessary.

Do not bring items of monetary value such as watches, rings, or jewelry with you the day of surgery.
Do not wear perfume, body lotions, oils, waxes, makeup (especially eye makeup) or false eyelashes on the day of surgery.
Wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing
If you wear contact lenses, please bring a lens case and solution with you. You will be required to remove contact lenses prior to surgery. Thus, reading glasses are preferable.
If you have had a medical clearance and/or other tests (lab tests, EKG, x-ray) performed by your primary doctor, please confirm with their office that these reports have been faxed to our facility. The fax numbers are at the bottom of this page. In some cases, the office will give you the reports. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU BRING THEM WITH YOU THE DAY OF SURGERY!
Please arrive at the facility PROMPTLY.

AFTER SURGERY
Make arrangements for a responsible person to take you home.
ALL PATIENTS, EXCEPT THOSE HAVING STRAIGHT LOCAL ANESTHESIA, MUST HAVE AN ADULT WITH THEM AT THE TIME OF DISCHARGE, WHO WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ACCOMPANYING THE PATIENT HOME, IN ORDER TO BE DISCHARGED FROM THIS FACILITY.
